Berth Marks Tent
Oasis #238

The Berth Marks Tent was formed here in Harlem in 1988. Over time, for one reason or another, membership began to wane and the 'oasis' disappeared. In early 2002, however, a committee of devotees worked to breathe life back into the Sons of the Desert's Harlem chapter, and the group is beginning to grow once again.
The Tent meets once every month, 6:30 p.m., in The Laurel and Hardy Museum located at 250 N. Louisville Street in Harlem, Georgia (unless otherwise notified). Yearly dues are a mere $15 per person or $25 per family. Keep in mind that membership runs from January to December; if you join later in the year the dues are pro-rated in a quarterly fashion as follows:
January through March - $15/person or $25/family
April through June - $11.25/person or $18.75/family
July through September - $7.50/person or $12.50/family
October through December - $3.25/person or $6.25/family
There are always refreshments served, and each meeting is cheerfully followed by at least one Laurel and Hardy two-reeler in Babe's Bijou.
The current officers of the Berth Marks Tent are:
Grand Sheik - Denise Carter
Vice Sheik - Kathy Ham
Grand Vizier - Linda Caldwell
Sub-Grand Vizier - Linda Bailey
Sub-Vice Vizier - Jean Dove
